Senior Linux System Administrator

You will help shape a GPU-accelerated remote desktop platform used for pre- and post-processing of HPC workloads in an advanced automotive engineering environment. The platform supports graphical workloads such as simulation, visualization, and rendering, and needs to be secure, scalable, and reliable over time.

In this role, you will work close to HPC and infrastructure specialists to design, build, and improve a Linux-based VDI environment running on Rocky Linux and RHEL. You will have real influence over architecture, automation, and platform standards in a technically demanding setup where performance and maintainability matter every day.

• You will design, deploy, and maintain a Linux-based GPU-enabled remote desktop environment using technologies such as NICE DCV, EnginFrame, SLURM, X11, and Xfce4.
• You will build and improve automation and Infrastructure-as-Code, primarily with Ansible, to create consistent and repeatable deployments.
• You will drive improvements in security, scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability across the platform.
• You will collaborate closely with HPC and infrastructure engineering teams to align the platform with broader technical needs.
• You will document architecture, configuration, deployment workflows, and operational routines to support stable operations and future development.

• You have solid experience working as a Linux System Administrator, ideally with Rocky Linux or RHEL.
• You have strong skills in automation and Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably using Ansible or similar tools.
• You are proficient in scripting, primarily Bash.
• You have experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git and GitLab.
• You have a good understanding of X11, desktop environments such as Xfce4 or GNOME, and remote rendering or display protocols.
• You have good knowledge of networking, security, and monitoring tools.
• You are comfortable designing scalable and maintainable systems and taking ownership of complex technical environments.

• Experience from HPC environments and the SLURM workload manager.
• Experience with NICE DCV, EnginFrame, Open OnDemand, or similar remote visualization platforms.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Podman.
• Python scripting and experience with observability tooling, including Prometheus-based solutions.
