Om jobbet
The Department of Accounting at the Stockholm School of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in accounting (including areas such as financial reporting, auditing, management accounting and control).
Your profile and qualifications
Qualified candidates should hold a doctoral degree and must have completed said requirement before taking up the position. As a candidate, you should have a research background in accounting, with a particular interest in digital resilience and/or risk management. You should also have an interest in conducting research that has practical implications for organizations. The successful candidate is expected to thrive in a research environment that values methodological pluralism and theoretical diversity in the study of accounting phenomena.
The basic requirement is that the candidate is strong both in research and teaching. The ideal candidate is someone with a promising research record as evidenced by publications – or the credible potential to publish – in top tier accounting journals. In addition, applicants should be able to teach various accounting-related topics at the (minimum) undergraduate level.
Conditions
The tenure track period is 6 years, conditional on successful mid-term review after 3 years. Tenure evaluation takes place after a maximum of 6 years, and successful evaluation leads to conversion of the tenure-track position into a tenured Associate Professor position. A tentative starting date for the successful applicant is Spring 2027, but SSE is open to discussing other dates, whether earlier or later. Salaries are set on an individual basis.
To be considered for the position, candidates need to submit:
- A letter of application articulating the candidate´s fit with the position description and profile of the department, including research interests and teaching competence,
- Curriculum vitae,
- Copies of representative research (published articles or working papers)
- Names and contact information of three references.
The application must be received by November 14, 2026. All applications are to be sent in through the SSE recruitment system Varbi.
