We are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our site leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future of one of the most strategically important product areas within our Health & Medical business. This is an opportunity to lead operational excellence, drive cultural transformation, and make a lasting impact on a site that continues to receive significant investment and attention within Essity's global manufacturing network.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the manufacturing organization and ensuring outstanding performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
You will lead a team consisting of 2 Department Leaders and one Maintenance Leader, with overall responsibility for approximately 60 employees at the Askersund site. As a member of the Site Leadership Team, you will work closely with colleagues across Quality, Logistics, HR, Finance, Projects and EHS to deliver business results while developing a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and employee engagement.
This role is critical to the site's ongoing development and transformation journey. You will have the opportunity to strengthen manufacturing excellence, improve productivity, increase equipment efficiency, reduce losses and waste, and further develop a high-performing organization capable of meeting future business demands.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Operations organization, including Production and Maintenance

Deliver performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People

Drive manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement initiatives

Create clear targets, accountability and performance follow-up throughout the organization

Improve productivity, equipment efficiency and waste reduction

Build a culture of engagement, ownership and continuous learning

Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and operational requirements

Contribute actively as a member of the Site Leadership Team

Manage operational budgets and drive sustainable business results

Partner with stakeholders across the site and the wider Essity manufacturing network
Who You Are
You are a strong operational leader who combines a structured approach to manufacturing performance with an engaging and empowering leadership style.
You know how to create results through others by setting clear expectations, building accountability and developing leaders and teams. You have experience driving change and understand that sustainable operational improvements require both robust systems and strong people engagement.
You bring energy, urgency and a hands-on approach to solving challenges while maintaining a long-term perspective on organizational development.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has

Several years of experience in a senior manufacturing or operations leadership role

Experience leading managers and larger operational organizations

Proven success in driving operational performance and continuous improvement

Strong knowledge of Manufacturing Excellence, TPM, World Class Manufacturing or similar operational frameworks

Experience from high-volume manufacturing environments

Background from FMCG, food production, process industry, consumer goods or similar industries is highly valued

Experience managing budgets and business performance

Strong stakeholder management and change leadership skills

Fluent English, both written and spoken
