About MIDA

The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) is the Malaysian Government’s principal investment promotion agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI). MIDA promotes, facilitates and coordinates investments in the manufacturing and selected services sectors in Malaysia.

MIDA Stockholm covers Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland, and works closely with companies, investors, industry organisations and other stakeholders to promote and facilitate investment opportunities in Malaysia.

Position: Investment Officer

MIDA Stockholm is seeking a qualified and motivated Investment Officer to support the office’s investment promotion, investor engagement and market intelligence activities across the Nordic region.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

1. Supporting the implementation of investment promotion programmes and activities in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland;

2. Identifying and engaging potential investors and companies interested in investing in Malaysia;

3. Organising and coordinating meetings, business engagements, investment missions, seminars and other investment promotion activities involving companies and relevant stakeholders;

4. Conducting research and analysis on targeted industries, companies, investment trends and business developments within the countries under MIDA Stockholm’s coverage;

5. Preparing company profiles, market intelligence, reports, briefing materials and relevant inputs on economic, industrial and investment developments;

6. Building and maintaining relationships and networks with relevant stakeholders, including companies, government agencies, chambers of commerce, industry associations and other business organisations;

7. Supporting follow-up and coordination with potential and existing investors on investment enquiries and projects involving Malaysia;

8. Sharing relevant information on Malaysia’s investment opportunities, policies, incentives and business environment with companies and other stakeholders; and

9. Undertaking other duties related to the functions and activities of MIDA Stockholm as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates should possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in business, economics, international relations or another relevant field;
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in investment promotion, business development, market research, international business, trade promotion or related activities;
• Excellent research, analytical and report-writing skills;
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with companies, senior executives and other stakeholders;
• Fluency in both English and Swedish, written and spoken; proficiency in other Nordic languages would be an advantage;
• Good knowledge of the Swedish and broader Nordic business environment is desirable;
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a small team; and
• Flexibility to travel within the Nordic region and to attend occasional events or engagements outside normal office hours.

Salary: SEK 37,430 gross per month
