Integration Platform Engineer

You will help build and run a shared integration platform used by multiple development teams in a large enterprise environment. The role combines platform engineering, automation and operational ownership, with a strong focus on Kafka clusters, HiveMQ and the tooling needed to keep the platform stable, scalable and secure. You will work closely with security, architecture and development teams, and support customer projects when needed. • You will design, deploy and maintain multi-cluster, multi-region Apache Kafka environments on Kubernetes, together with enterprise HiveMQ brokers.
• You will drive upgrades, patching and automation for Kafka, Strimzi and HiveMQ, with focus on stability, CVE mitigation and zero-downtime operations.
• You will develop and maintain custom Kafka Connectors for data movement between legacy systems and cloud environments.
• You will define scaling strategies, node affinity, topology spread and persistent volume setup for IOPS-intensive messaging workloads.
• You will manage partition layouts, topic compaction, retention settings and resource allocation across the platform.
• You will build high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including cross-region replication and automated failover.
• You will strengthen governance and security through Schema Registries, Kafka ACLs, SASL, mTLS, RBAC and authentication integrations.
• You will create observability and alerting with Prometheus and Grafana, perform RCA, and handle platform-level incident, problem and change management.
• You will build reusable CI/CD flows with GitHub Actions, work with Helm and infrastructure as code, and create self-service capabilities for development teams.

• 4–6 years of experience with Apache Kafka, Strimzi, Kafka Connect API, Kraft.
• 4–6 years of experience working with Java and Spring Boot Framework
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Strong experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Linux experience (including WSL)
• Experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD and CI/CD
• Knowledge of Splunk, Fluent Bit and Helm
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus and Fluent Bit or OpenTelemetry
• Apache Kafka at platform level (clusters, performance, security)
• HiveMQ broker
• Fluent in English

• Experience in APIM platforms
• Experience in Azure, AWS or Google cloud
• Cloud cost optimization experience
• Experience of working at an Integration department in large enterprise environments
• Swedish is an advantage
