Infrastructure Automation Engineer

On behalf of a partner company, Nordic Investin is looking for an Infrastructure Automation Engineer. You see a repeated manual change as an invitation to design a safer system.

The partner is modernising infrastructure management across cloud and on premises environments. You will replace fragile procedures with tested automation and give operations teams clearer, repeatable ways to deliver change.

The platform is treated as a service used by engineers and business teams. Success will be measured through safer change, lower operational friction and clearer ownership rather than the number of tools introduced.

The work combines planned platform development with investigation of real production behaviour. You will collaborate with application teams, security and operations, using their feedback to decide what should become a shared service, an automated control or clear documentation. Ownership continues after the first release.

You will receive meaningful ownership while working with senior colleagues on the most consequential decisions. The partner expects you to deliver independently within a clear area, ask for context early and contribute ideas grounded in what you observe. There is room to deepen your specialism or broaden toward adjacent responsibilities.

• Automate provisioning and configuration using code.

• Create reusable modules, roles and pipeline workflows.

• Integrate infrastructure changes with review and testing practices.

• Improve inventory, secrets and environment consistency.

• Support Windows and Linux services across hybrid estates.

• Investigate failures and remove their recurring causes.

• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell or Python.

• Good Windows or Linux administration fundamentals.

• Understanding of networks, identity and infrastructure services.

• Experience using Git and automated delivery pipelines.

• Ability to document and communicate operational change.

• Professional English and methodical problem solving.

• VMware, Nutanix or public cloud platforms.

• Policy as code and automated compliance.

• Migration from ticket driven infrastructure processes.

You may have started in system administration, network operations or software support and moved toward automation. We want someone who understands why the manual process exists before replacing it.

The partner offers a broad environment and a clear mandate to reduce toil. You will build tools that colleagues use every day and develop deeper skills in platform engineering and infrastructure as code.

During the process, Nordic Investin will focus on concrete decisions you have made: the context you received, the alternatives you considered, the result you observed and what you would change today. You do not need every optional technology if your core experience transfers and you can explain how you would close the gap.
