Business Controller

Nordic Investin has been engaged by a partner company to find a Business Controller. You want to be involved before the decision, when analysis can still change the outcome.

The partner needs a business controller to support a commercial or operational unit with planning, performance analysis and decision support. You will connect financial results with the drivers behind them and help leaders choose where to focus.

Controlling is expected to connect financial results with the operational and commercial drivers behind them. The strongest analysis leads to a clearer choice, an owned action and disciplined follow up rather than another unexplained report.

You will work close to the stakeholders responsible for revenue, cost, projects or operations. The partner expects you to test assumptions, explain uncertainty and translate analysis into a small number of useful actions. Credibility will come from both financial discipline and curiosity about the business.

As a senior colleague, you will own substantial outcomes and help others make stronger decisions. You are expected to recognise risk early, communicate it without drama and move work forward with practical alternatives. Seniority here means broader judgement and follow through, not distance from delivery.

• Lead budget, forecast and long range planning for the unit.

• Analyse revenue, margin, cost and operational drivers.

• Build decision cases and scenario models.

• Challenge assumptions and follow up agreed actions.

• Improve management reporting and performance measures.

• Partner with leaders on priorities, risks and resource allocation.

• Strong business controlling or commercial finance experience.

• Advanced modelling and analytical capability.

• Ability to connect financial and operational drivers.

• Confidence challenging senior stakeholders constructively.

• Experience with planning, reporting and decision support.

• Professional English and persuasive communication.

• Pricing, customer or product profitability.

• Power BI and modern planning tools.

• Experience in a fast changing or international business.

You may have developed through financial control, accounting, consulting or operational analysis. The partner values curiosity, commercial judgement and evidence that your work influenced a decision rather than only explained a result.

You will work close to the business with access to meaningful decisions and imperfect information. The role offers room to improve how performance is understood and how finance contributes to action.
