AVL is one of the world’s leading mobility technology companies for development, simulation and testing in the automotive industry, and beyond. The company provides concepts, solutions and methodologies in fields like vehicle development and integration, e-mobility, automated and connected mobility (ADAS/AD), and software for a greener, safer, better world of mobility.

Job description:

Are you passionate about testing, problem-solving, and future mobility technologies? We are looking for Verification & Validation Engineers to join upcoming customer projects within electrified mobility in the Gothenburg region. At AVL, you will work with advanced automotive systems, collaborate with industry-leading customers, and become part of a global engineering community where knowledge sharing and continuous development are part of everyday work.

As a V&V Engineer, you will work with verification and validation of advanced electro-mobility systems and contribute to ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performing products. Depending on the assignment, you may work as an independent specialist supporting a customer team or as part of a larger AVL delivery team responsible for a complete work package. You will often collaborate cross-functionally with engineers from different technical disciplines and contribute throughout the entire verification and validation process, from requirements analysis and test planning to execution, result evaluation, and reporting. Occasional travel within Europe may be required as part of the role.

Depending on the assignment, your responsibilities may include:

  • Analyzing, reviewing, and managing system requirements
  • Developing test plans, test strategies, and verification concepts
  • Executing functional, system, and integration tests
  • Working in laboratory and test cell environments
  • Performing vehicle testing and environmental validation
  • Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating test data
  • Investigating deviations and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Documenting and presenting test results to technical teams and project stakeholders
  • Contributing to the development of test methods, test environments, and automated test solutions
Profile description:

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Vehicle Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience within the automotive industry
  • At least 2 years of experience working with electro-mobility systems
  • Experience in test case definition, test execution, and reporting
  • Experience developing test plans and test structures
  • Experience working with requirements management tools
  • Experience working with data acquisition and analysis tools
  • Experience with CAN-based communication and diagnostic tools
  • Experience from the Swedish automotive industry
  • Fluent English, spoken and written
  • A valid European Class B driving license

It is considered a strong advantage if you have experience with:

  • Swedish language skills
  • Requirements management and diagnostic tools (e.g. SystemWeaver, CarWeaver, ATI Vision, ETAS INCA, CarCom, DSA, VIDA)
  • CAN communication, testing, and simulation tools (e.g. CANoe, CANalyzer, CAPL, dSPACE, vTestStudio)
  • HIL systems and automated testing
  • MATLAB, Simulink, TargetLink, Python, and modern development toolchains (GitLab, Gerrit, Jenkins)
  • Jira, Confluence, and collaborative development environments
  • Debugging, fault tracing, and verification of complex systems
  • System safety, legal requirements, and compliance verification
  • Vehicle testing, proving ground activities, and climate validation
  • Lauterbach TRACE32
  • European Class C driving license

Personal attributes:

You are a curious and solution-oriented engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and turning ideas into reliable solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy sharing knowledge with others, and appreciate working closely with colleagues and customers. As technologies and projects evolve, you are comfortable adapting to new situations and learning new things. Most importantly, you have a genuine interest in automotive technology and a passion for shaping the future of electrified mobility.

We offer:

At AVL, you will become part of a global technology company at the forefront of development, simulation, and testing for the future of mobility. As the world's largest independent company in this field, with more than 12,000 employees worldwide, we drive innovation for a greener, safer, and better mobility future.

Our focus spans the entire value chain, from early idea and concept phases to industrialization and series production. We work with advanced technologies in electrification, software, autonomous driving, digitalization, and energy-efficient powertrains, helping our customers shape the mobility solutions of tomorrow.
