About this opportunity Packet Core S&T drives the Technology Evolution in the Packet Core domain. Our mission is to transform industry trends, concepts, ideas and innovations into business opportunities for Ericsson. 

We are now looking for a System Architect within PDU Packet Core, with broad experience in system architecture and strong knowledge of Packet Core. In this role, you will help shape the architecture across PC products while providing deep expertise in your home domain. You will work across organizational and technical boundaries to ensure that our architecture supports long-term expectations for capacity, availability, maintainability, evolvability and usability.  

The Role 

As a System Architect, you will guard and drive the evolution of the system architecture across PC products. You will guide, support and follow up software development in multiple XFTs distributed over more than one site, helping teams align around a clear technical direction. 

You need to actively participate in early system studies, initiate prototypes to evaluate technical solutions, and identify opportunities for architectural redesign and work packages that reduce technical debt. As well as define, secure and guard a well-defined system architecture, including architecturally significant components and their interfaces.  

Your professional experience includes… 

• Prioritize the overall System Architect view across PC products while providing expertise in your home domain. 
• Participate in and lead selected Technical System Areas (TSAs) spanning PDU Packet Core. 
• Drive the system architecture evolution plan, define and deploy architectural guidelines, and keep the System Architecture Description up to date. 
• Review suggested technical solutions and feature functionality at F4, supporting Development Areas and XFTs throughout the development process. 
• Detect coordination needs for parallel development and help ensure effective alignment across teams and sites. 
• Work closely with Product Owners, system competence groups and associated TSAs, as well as customers and PDU-external partners when needed. 
• Interact with S&T to understand feasibility, influence technical standards and adjust the architecture accordingly. 
• Maintain broad product knowledge and provide the technical foundation for strategic decisions by PL, S&T and other stakeholders. 
• Contribute to technical governance for BR and PCMRP, and act as PCMPR System Responsible for selected PCMRPs. 
• Communicate the system architecture, its evolution plan and architectural guidelines, enabling developers and stakeholders to understand the current direction and coming steps.
