Assignment Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Product Manager to lead software product management across New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. You will represent customer and business needs throughout the product development lifecycle, define software requirements and priorities, and drive decisions related to functionality, scope, value proposition, and customer experience.

You will ensure software is considered early in product development and aligned with the overall product strategy and roadmap. A key focus is identifying opportunities to reuse common software capabilities and platforms across projects while maintaining a consistent customer experience and supporting long-term portfolio strategy.

What You Will Work On

  • Define software product requirements, use cases, priorities, and success criteria.
  • Gather Voice of Customer insights and translate customer workflows and unmet needs into product direction.
  • Establish software product vision, value proposition, scope, and roadmap.
  • Drive product decisions throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure software requirements are integrated early into NPI projects and product development processes.
  • Identify opportunities for shared platforms, reusable capabilities, and consistency across the software portfolio.
  • Balance customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, risk, and strategic alignment.
  • Contribute to business cases, investment decisions, commercialization, and product launch readiness.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Software Engineering, R&D, Systems Engineering, UX, Quality, Regulatory, Service, and Commercial teams.
  • Coordinate with project management and PMO while maintaining clear ownership of product decisions.
  • Support multiple concurrent NPI initiatives in a global, cross-functional environment.

What You Bring

  • Advanced degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in software product management, product management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing the software product lifecycle from requirements through development, commercialization, and lifecycle optimization.
  • Experience with NPI, stage-gate, Product Commercialization Process (PCP), or comparable product development processes.
  • Strong ability to translate customer needs and business objectives into software requirements and priorities.
  • Experience with product vision, roadmap development, release planning, requirements management, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong business acumen and experience contributing to business cases and investment decisions.
  • Excellent analytical, data-driven decision-making, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting software commercialization, product launches, and go-to-market activities.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution across multiple projects.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, up to 30%.

Meritorious

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of scientific or technical domains relevant to the product portfolio.
  • Experience with regulated or scientific products.
  • Understanding of quality, regulatory, cybersecurity, and software lifecycle requirements.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), software engineering, and software testing.
