The Opportunity

As power systems become increasingly complex, utilities and grid operators rely on advanced SCADA solutions to monitor and control their networks. At Hitachi Energy, you will join a global team delivering these solutions to customers around the world, supporting the reliable operation of critical power infrastructures.

As a SCADA Engineer you will work closely with customers, project teams, and technical specialists throughout the full project lifecycle, from solution design and system configuration to testing, commissioning, and deployment. You'll combine technical expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration to deliver high quality solutions that meet operational and business requirements.

This role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys working with complex systems, solving technical challenges, and collaborating with stakeholders in an international project environment.

  • Translate customer operational requirements into effective SCADA solutions.
  • Support system migrations, integrations, and data exchange between connected systems.
  • Validate delivered solutions through testing, commissioning, and customer acceptance activities.
  • Collaborate with customers and project teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Strengthen engineering practices: contribute to continuous improvements and knowledge sharing across the SCADA engineering team.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation or equivalent. A Master’s degree is highly regarded.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, industrial automation, or industrial control environments.
  • Understanding of power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols including OPC UA, ICCP, and ISO/IEC standards related to SCADA.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail when working with SCADA configurations and data models.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to gather and translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Swedish language skills are preferred.
  • The role includes occasional travel, with mobility requirements of up to 20% depending on business needs and project activities.
