Help Shape the Future of Sustainable Ingredients

At Lantmännen Biorefineries, we develop sustainable ingredients from oats, wheat, and peas that help shape the future of food and biobased solutions. As a Product Developer, you will lead product and process innovation projects across our portfolio of grain- and pulse-based ingredients. From laboratory and pilot trials to full-scale production, you will apply your technical expertise to develop products, optimize processes, and bring new solutions to market. This position is based in either Lidköping or Kimstad.

This is what you will do

You will drive the development of new food ingredient products and contribute to process improvements through hands-on experimentation, data-driven decision-making, and close collaboration across the organization.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading product and process development projects from ideation to industrial implementation.
  • Developing and optimizing products and process technologies to improve quality, efficiency, sustainability, and business value of the ingredients.
  • Designing, planning, and conducting laboratory, pilot-scale, and production-scale trials.
  • Establishing, conducting, and training sensory panels to support product evaluation and development.
  • Analyzing technical data and translating findings into recommendations and actionable decisions.
  • Supporting the scale-up and industrialization of new products and process innovations.
  • Creating and maintaining product specifications, technical documentation and development reports.
  • Building expert knowledge in assigned products, raw materials and processing technologies.
  • Identifying and evaluating new technologies, raw materials, and innovation opportunities.
  • Collaborating with suppliers, research institutes, universities, and other external partners to strengthen our innovation capabilities.
  • Presenting project results, recommendations, and business cases to stakeholders and management.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.

This is what you need to succeed

You have:

  • Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in product and process development within food ingredients, ingredient manufacturing, starch and grain processing, or a related industry.
  • Experience leading R&D projects, planning development activities, and driving projects from concept to implementation.
  • Strong understanding of process technology, manufacturing operations, and scale-up from laboratory to industrial production.
  • Experience designing and conducting sensory evaluations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting technical and experimental data.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English. Swedish or another Nordic language is an advantage.

You are:

You combine strong technical expertise with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. Curious and analytical by nature, you enjoy understanding how raw materials, products, and manufacturing processes interact to create value. You thrive on solving complex challenges and can balance scientific rigor with practical execution. Whether working in the laboratory, pilot plant, production environment, or project team, you take a structured approach and maintain a clear focus on delivering results. You are collaborative and confident working across functions and disciplines. You build strong relationships, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and drive projects forward through expertise, influence, and teamwork.

What we offer you

At Lantmännen, sustainability, innovation, and long-term thinking are at the heart of everything we do. We offer the opportunity to work with industry-leading grain- and pulse-based ingredients, contribute to the future of food and biobased solutions, and grow within an international group that continuously invests in innovation, technology, and people development.

Together, we reimagine the world of grain. That is how we make it matter, from field to fork.
