Would you like a permanent nursing position with varied responsibilities and nature right outside your door?

On behalf of Snåsa Municipality in Trøndelag, Norway, we are seeking three registered nurses for permanent positions within the municipal healthcare and care services.

Here, you will enjoy a varied and meaningful workday, providing care and follow-up for patients both in home care services and in institutional settings. You will become part of a professional healthcare environment where nurses play a key role, with a high degree of autonomy, varied clinical responsibilities, and close collaboration with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

Snåsa is located next to the Blåfjella-Skjækerfjella National Park, offering vast forests, mountains, and excellent opportunities for hiking, cycling, hunting, and fishing. With a population of approximately 2,100 people, Snåsa is also a welcoming community where it is easy to get to know people and feel at home.

About the position

As a Registered Nurse, you will have a varied workday caring for patients with different needs in both home care services and institutional care settings.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Providing daily nursing care and professional follow-up to patients in home care services and/or institutional care
  • Observing, assessing, and documenting patients’ health conditions
  • Medication administration and treatment in accordance with applicable guidelines and regulations
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, family members, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and the development of local routines and patient care pathways

The position involves shift work, including day, evening, and weekend shifts. You will have a significant level of professional responsibility and will work both independently and closely with other professional groups. High-quality, safe patient care is at the heart of everything, while maintaining a positive working environment built on collaboration, well-being, and good humor.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is professionally engaged, responsible, and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

  • Authorization as a registered nurse in an EU or EEA country
  • Good communication skills in English and willingness to learn Norwegian
  • Valid police clearance and health certificate including tuberculosis and MRSA before starting
  • Valid driver’s licence (Class B)
  • Professionally engaged and responsible
  • Strong teamwork and adaptability skills
  • Experience from elderly care, home care services, or rehabilitation is an advantage

For those relocating with family, the municipality offers good capacity in kindergartens, schools, and after-school programs, as well as a variety of leisure activities for children and families. Trondheim Airport Værnes is approximately two hours away by car, and the Nordland Railway also provides convenient transportation to and from Snåsa.
