At SweGaN, we work together to develop and produce advanced semiconductor materials for our customers. Our production equipment plays an important role in ensuring stable and reliable manufacturing, and close collaboration between our technical teams is essential to our continued development.

As our Tool Engineer – MOCVD, you will work closely with Production, Process Engineering, and Maintenance to ensure reliable and safe operation of our production equipment. The role combines hands-on technical work with troubleshooting, analysis, and continuous improvement.

You will work with advanced MOCVD equipment and supporting systems, investigate technical issues, and contribute to improving equipment reliability and performance.

You will be part of a growing semiconductor company where collaboration between different technical functions is important for developing and strengthening our production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of assigned MOCVD reactors and supporting equipment.
• Monitor and improve equipment performance, availability, reliability, capability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and identify recurring or systematic failures.
• Lead technical root-cause investigations and implement corrective technical actions.
• Support Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting and complex maintenance activities.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance procedures, technical instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
• Identify and implement equipment modifications, upgrades, and technical improvements.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and acceptance activities.
• Work closely with Process Engineering to ensure that equipment meets defined process requirements.
• Support equipment-related deviations, change control, FMEA, and technical risk assessments.
• Maintain relevant equipment documentation and ensure traceability of equipment changes and maintenance activities.
• Provide technical guidance and training to Maintenance Technicians and Operators.
• Contribute to safe equipment operation and participate in equipment-related safety and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience working with complex industrial or semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Strong analytical, technical, and systematic troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, vacuum, gas, control, and safety systems.
• Ability to work both analytically and hands-on in a production environment.
• Good technical documentation and communication skills.
• Experience with MOCVD/MOVPE equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, vacuum systems, specialty gas systems, PLC/SCADA, equipment qualification, or structured problem-solving methods such as FMEA, 8D and RCA is considered an advantage.
• Experience with or knowledge of Monitor ERP is also considered an advantage.
