Specialist in Radiology – Join a leading hospital in central Sweden

We are assisting a healthcare provider in central Sweden in recruiting a Specialist in Radiology.

About the Workplace

The department is a dynamic and technologically advanced unit covering radiology, mammography, and clinical physiology.

As a radiologist in the region, you will join a team of 25 consultants/senior specialists and 15 residents. The service is jointly organized with an overall manager, scheduler, and coordinator, creating excellent conditions for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The hospital operates 24/7, handling both acute and elective examinations. The equipment includes CT scanners, MRI, fluoroscopy systems, conventional X-ray facilities, and ultrasound labs. There is close cooperation between departments and a strong team spirit among radiology, clinical departments, and the emergency unit.

The hospital is known for its strong collegial atmosphere and close interdisciplinary collaboration, where your expertise makes a real difference for patients.

The location allows you to combine a rewarding career with life close to nature. Forests, lakes, and mountains are nearby, and the town offers good schools, affordable housing, and a welcoming community.

Your Responsibilities

As a radiologist at the hospital, you will work broadly within general radiology, including image interpretation and examinations in conventional radiology, CT, and ultrasound.

The role is varied and also includes ward rounds, multidisciplinary conferences (MDT), continuing medical education, and supervision of residents and visiting colleagues. On-call duties during some evenings and weekends are part of the position.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Willingness to learn Swedish - full support provided
  • Experience in conventional radiology, CT, and ultrasound, including basic skills in ultrasound-guided interventions
  • Experience in MRI is considered an advantage

Great importance is placed on personal qualities such as teamwork, commitment, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude. You are able to make decisions, work independently, and structure your tasks efficiently. You stay up to date within your specialty and contribute your expertise to colleagues.

What the Employer Offers

  • At least 25 days of annual paid vacation, with paid leave accrued from day one (more than required by Swedish law)
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and professional development
  • Strong employee benefits and insurance schemes supporting long-term financial security
  • Flexible working hours available in most departments

About the Region

The region is a proactive, creative, welcoming, and open place where you can enjoy a high quality of life. You will live and work surrounded by beautiful wilderness — deep forests, peaceful lakes, flowing rivers, and picturesque countryside — alongside an open and friendly community, international business sector, rich cultural life, sports, outdoor activities, and an innovative university environment.

Language and relocation

Swedish language training starts in your home country through individual online lessons with a private teacher. You study several hours per week alongside your current work.

Relocation to Sweden takes place once you have reached Swedish level C1.

Relocation and the language education is provided and financed. You get supportet from both us and the region.

You begin working fully as a radiographer once Swedish authorization has been obtained.
