The Opportunity

Are you passionate about learning, development, and creating safer workplaces? As our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Training & Competence Specialist, you will have the opportunity to shape how HSE capabilities are built across our HVDC organization.

In this role, you will combine training, safety, and continuous improvement to make a real impact on people and performance. You will work closely with leaders, HSE experts, and the HVDC Academy to strengthen competence, drive a strong safety culture, and support employee growth. As the central coordinator, you will connect stakeholders across the organization, align training and competence initiatives, and ensure HSE development activities move forward effectively. This is a great opportunity to influence how learning is delivered, collaborate across functions, and contribute to a safer and more sustainable future.

How you'll make an impact

  • Develop and deliver engaging HSE training programs using a variety of learning methods (e.g., e-learning, classroom, practical demonstrations).
  • Identify competence gaps and drive HSE capability development across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain an HSE competence assurance program, in collaboration with managers, HSE teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Integrate competence requirements into roles, processes, and day-to-day operations across the business.
  • Continuously enhance training content and methods in line with legislation, industry best practices, and organizational needs.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness, maintain training records, and support incident investigations through competence-related insights.

Your Background

  • Experience working within HSE, for example from a construction, industrial, manufacturing, or similar operational environment.
  • A genuine passion for health, safety, and creating a positive impact for people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders across different functions.
  • A self-driven approach, with the ability to coordinate initiatives and drive activities forward independently.
  • Fluency in English is required.
