Consultant Psychiatrist - Folgefonn DPS, Valen

Helse Fonna has around 4,200 employees and provides specialist healthcare to more than 180,000 residents in Sunnhordland, Inner Hardanger and Northern Rogaland. Folgefonn District Psychiatric Centre (DPS) offers mental health care and specialised addiction treatment (TSB) at Valen and Odda. Its multidisciplinary team includes consultant psychiatrists, specialist psychologists, doctors in specialist training and other healthcare professionals.

Folgefonn DPS is seeking a consultant psychiatrist to join its team at Valen. The workplace will be at Valen, either in an outpatient clinic or an inpatient unit. The centre is developing both its outpatient and inpatient services, and you can contribute to clinical development in a collaborative environment.
Main duties: Assess, diagnose and treat patients; work in a multidisciplinary clinical team; provide supervision and internal teaching; participate in the shared consultant on-call rota with Valen Hospital; and collaborate with patients' relatives and municipal health services.
Start and selection: Planned start date is 4 January 2027. Interviews may be held during the application period.

Required qualifications: Norwegian medical authorisation and approved specialisation in psychiatry. Good spoken and written Norwegian is essential for safe patient care.
