Chef at Big River Camp Hotel and Spa

About us:

Big River Camp is a spa hotel with a restaurant and conference facilities in the mountains of Jämtland. We put strong focus on local ingredients such as moose, bear, reindeer, fish, mushrooms, lingonberries and everything else the forests around us provide. The kitchen works with fine dining, tasting menus, and buffets for conferences and groups of all sizes.

About the role:

This is not an ordinary chef job. We are growing and looking for an all round chef with solid experience and real commitment, someone who can handle everything from a well made conference buffet to thoughtful fine dining. Sometimes the job also means cooking outdoors over an open fire. We want someone with the curiosity and energy to help shape something new and unique. Beyond the daily kitchen work, we are building a new concept focused on exclusive food experiences for smaller groups. This project is still young and there is no limit to where it can go. We want someone who helps shape it, not just execute it.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience as a chef in restaurants and or hotels. Is confident with both fine dining and buffet. Has an interest in local and wild ingredients. Works well without close supervision, handles pressure well, and takes pride in their craft. Enjoys working in a smaller business that still has several chefs, where each person is seen and matters. Brings energy and ideas, not only routine. Has a strong sense of teamwork. Enjoys mountain life, can see the potential of the area, and is comfortable with days that vary and are sometimes very busy.

We offer:

Housing provided on site. Salary is discussed individually based on experience and performance. Working hours can be discussed and adjusted to some extent.
