This role provides broad accountability for the performance and long-term development of the kids wear category. You influence the customer offer, category growth, innovation and commercial direction while helping establish an integrated way of working across business and digital functions.
You lead leaders and employees, develop talent and succession readiness, and build a culture based on ownership, clarity and responsibility. Through close collaboration with functional managers and other Business Team Directors, you also contribute to priorities that serve the wider business.
About the role
As Category Business Director – Kids' wear, you hold full accountability for the business team’s commercial, digital, financial, operational, sustainability and people performance. As the primary business owner, you set the strategic direction, translate Lindex's strategy into a clear business plan and drive sustainable growth, profitability and long-term success.

- Define the strategic direction, priorities and business plan for the kids’ wear category.
- Own the category’s business results across commercial, digital, financial, operational and sustainability performance.
- Develop the customer offer, category growth, innovation and commercial storytelling.
- Translate Lindex’s strategy into clear goals, actions and measurable outcomes.
- Drive strategic change, continuous improvement and long-term business development.
- Partner with the Head of Digital to align business and digital planning and execution.
- Lead and develop leaders and employees, including talent development and succession readiness.
- Lead a multifunctional category leadership team and create alignment across product, design, sourcing, digital and commercial functions to deliver category performance.
- Align functions across reporting lines and balance category priorities with the needs of the wider business.
- Drive the end-to-end development of the category, ensuring alignment across assortment strategy, product development, sourcing, production and commercial storytelling.
About you
You understand how customer behaviour, market developments and business performance translate into decisions that drive growth and results. You create clarity in complex situations, communicate with impact and enable others to take responsibility. You lead through change, address difficult issues constructively and bring different functions together around shared priorities.
You combine strong strategic and commercial leadership with deep fashion and product expertise. You understand how customer needs, assortment strategy, product development, sourcing and commercial execution work together to create profitable growth. You bring a strong product mindset and a passion for building desirable customer offers that drive both customer relevance and business results.
To succeed in this role, you need:
- A relevant university degree.
- Extensive experience within the relevant business area.
- Extensive experience within retail/fashion retail, with significant experience from category management, assortment planning, buying, design, sourcing, product development or closely related disciplines.
- Extensive leadership experience, including proven experience of leading leaders.
- A proven track record of leading a business or significant business area with profit and loss responsibility.
- Experience of driving organisational change, transformation and continuous improvement.
- Experience of building and developing a fashion customer offer, assortment strategy and product portfolio that delivers both customer relevance and profitable growth.
- Fluency in English.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience from international fashion retail or consumer-driven brand businesses, with a strong focus on customer insight, brand building, and commercial growth.
- Experience of leading across reporting lines and building trust with teams, functional managers and stakeholders.
