Android Developer

You will help shape customer-facing experiences in a modern automotive infotainment environment, with a clear focus on profile management and multi-user functionality. The role sits close to both application and platform layers, where strong Android knowledge matters and where you can influence how features are built, maintained, and improved over time.

• You will develop and maintain Android applications and features for profile management and multi-user experiences.
• You will work across the infotainment platform and contribute from concept through production.
• You will collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and other development teams to deliver high-quality user experiences.
• You will support test automation development and maintenance, primarily using Python.
• You will contribute to CI/CD pipelines as well as team-specific tooling and automation.
• You will help improve technical solutions and support efficient development workflows in a large and complex codebase.

• At least 5 years of software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java and Kotlin.
• Experience developing Android applications.
• Experience with AOSP and Android Automotive OS.
• Experience with test automation development and maintenance, primarily using Python.
• Good understanding of Android framework concepts, including user profiles, permissions, and application lifecycle.
• Familiarity with working in large and complex code repositories.
• Experience using Git and Linux-based development environments.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and contributing to team-specific tooling and automation.
• Basic understanding of C++ to navigate and understand lower-level platform code when needed.

Volvo Cars require that an adequate background check has been completed prior to the start of the assignment, meaning that you, as the supplier, must have conducted the requested level/-s of background check as soon as possible after your candidate has been chosen for the assignment. Export Control: Supplier must ensure all contingent workers submitted undergo a Sanctioned Parties Lists screening (SPL).

• Experience from the automotive infotainment domain.
• Experience troubleshooting and fault tracing in vehicles.
• Experience supporting Android version upgrades and platform uplifts.
• University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Swedish driver's license (B).
